Kranj - Painting textile patterns with earth pigments
The workshop is intended for lovers of nature and creation with natural materials. With mentor Mateja Kavčič, participants will take a short walk through the Kokra River canyon, where they will calm down by observing the details of nature and find motives for creation. Then, the mentor will present the process of making pigments from soil. Participants will transfer the shapes of stones, twigs, leaves, clouds, water and plants in a stylized form onto paper and create repeating patterns that could be used as prints on textiles. Teenagers and adults are welcome. Mateja Kavčič is an academic painter who, in recent years, has been creating mainly ephemeral spatial installations from materials she finds in nature.
