Kranj - Colorful hair elastics - scrunchies

At the workshop, participants will sew their own unique hair tie / scrunchie from colorful pieces of goods from the former Kranjska tovarna Tekstilindus. They will learn the story of materials and the principle of upcycling, choose their favorite combinations of colors and patterns, learn the basics of assembling a textile collage, and sew a unique product. The workshop will be led by Zala Hrastar, founder of the MORJA brand. Her work is based on the creative repurposing of second-hand clothing and materials - through collaged and colorful creations, she encourages appreciation of the existing and tells stories of the past in a unique and sustainable way. No prior sewing knowledge is required. Teenagers and adults are welcome.
